Tuesday, last week, after the third round play-off bouts Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund became the firs teams to advance to the Champions League semi-finals.
The Germans, while being very close to defeat losing 1-2 during the game in a heated clash with Spanish Malaga, managed to score two quick goals in stoppage time and miraculously overturned the result.
Real, meanwhile, lost to Galatasaray 3:2, but the comfortable result in the first-leg game (3:0) let Spaniards not to worry much. Yesterday, the two teams were joined by "Barcelona" and "Bayern".
The Catalans, who played without their prominent leader Lionel Messi against PSG, were not really impressive in the first half loosing 0:1 by the middle of the second half.
But when Messi appeared on pitch substituting Adriano, it seemed PSG was doomed right away. The Blaugrana rushed forward with inspiration and incredible velocity and soon equalized the game through Pedro.
"With Messi, we're talking about the best player in the world. It doesn't matter if he's a little bit injured, he can still change everything," defender Pique told the official UEFA website.
"We knew that having him on the pitch would be important. He's our reference. He can pass, he can score goals; he can do everything. He helps us a lot".
Bayern, unlike Barcelona, had no problems with its rival Uventus dominantly winning 2 to 0 again.
"I thought we could have played at their same level tonight but Bayern proved I was wrong. I think they can win the Champions League," Uventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon said.
"The dream is over tonight. We tried to play our game, we have no regrets, we did the best we could. Unfortunately it was not enough because we faced a team that, from every point of view, are better than us”.
Thus, the semi-finals will be Spanish-German, and we may even see two traditional Classico's. The draw will be done on April 12.
