There many factors that affect our skin health. It is age, sex, physical activity, climate, professional aspects, etc. Nutrition is one of the most crucial, as skin, which is the largest organ in the human body, needs many essential nutrients every day. So, the most important food for healthy skin will be the topic of this post.

First of all, you don't necessarily need go to dermatologist for smooth and healthy looking skin. First, you have to realize that your diet is fundamental for your health and your looks. If you go to your kitchen and inspect the products you regularly consume, you will that there are many changes that are only up to you.

Through my experience, I have come to believe that the most important products for healthy skin are these:

Cacao.

Cacao consist of zinc that takes part in many reactions in skin cells. It alleviates inflammation, thus preventing pimples.

Oranges.

One glass of orange juice contains the daily dose of vitamin C. It is needed for synthesis of collagen - the substance that is responsible for elasticity of skin.

Chickpeas.

Chickpeas contain essential amino acids that are also needed for collagen building.

Also they are highly demanded when tissue goes through regeneration, and that is why eating enough of chickpeas promotes fast healing of scratches and disappearance of age-related blemishes and spots.

Green tea.

The main difference between green tea and black tea is that the green tea has much higher levels of powerful antioxidants like catechin and polyphenol.

These substances have DNA-protective properties against free radical damage and can help repair damaged cell walls, thus reducing aging process. Polyphenols, that are also found in tea, prevent the development of fungal diseases and relieve inflammation.

Whole grains bread and rye bread.

Whole grains are rich in vitamin B3, which is known for its effectiveness in eliminating redness and reducing inflammation in various types of acne.

In addition, it decreases sebum production and secretion. This, in turn leads to cleaner pores and fresher skin.

Apricots.

They contain beta-carotene which is converted in the body into vitamin A.

Actually, one can find beta-carotene in various fruits and vegetables that have yellow-orange colour, but apricots pack much higher beta-carotene values than other products.

Sunflower oil.

It contains many essential fatty acids as linoleic acid.

Linoleic acid, one of the omega-6 fatty acids, takes part in the formation of cell membranes. It is responsible for their flexibility. Water balance in the skin is achieved through its utilization as well.

Brazil nuts.

If you are planing to go on vacation to some hot places, Brazil for example, take Brazil nuts with you.

Brazil nuts contain selenium that prevents DNA mutation help maintain healthy reproduction cycles in your body cells.

Fresh water.

This is a must. You should drink at least 2 litres or 10 glasses of water per day.

It is advised to drinking water (plain water) every time you feel thirsty, and even force yourself to gulp a few glasses between meals, even if you don't feel that you need it. Except keeping you hydrated it will reduce excessive appetite.
